UNSOLVED
Thanks for info, but these services are running. I even restarted the host and the error doesn't go away. The web interface doesn't show the storage subsystem so I can't check which controller is in the machine. However, in Server 2012 R2's device manager I notice under disk drivers that it says Dell PERC H700, which sounds familiar to me.
Is there anything else I could try?

Were you able to see Storage details prior? If not then I have some steps below to add it.
If you're not getting the Storage section on OMSA then go to Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - then find OpenManage and click on CHANGE. From there you can add Storage to install and then exit out. You should then be able to open it and see the Perc details.
The H700 is the Perc Raid Controller. With this though, I am not seeing that it would be a hardware issue.

Kschyff,
When you are getting this error do you have the following Services running within services.msc?
If not, then restart them and then let them run for a few and recheck OMSA.
If they were running then the issue may be the controllers driver or firmware. What controller is installed on the server?
Let me know what you find out.
