Expanding RAID - PERC 5i

I've just updated my PERC 5i to have 8 disks.  My question is, is there a way to piggie back a second PERC card into the mix so that I could potentially have up to 16 drives on a single RAID?  Sorry if this is a silly question - I'm not real
experienced with SAS drives.

    Internal - no.  You could use Perc5E controllers attached to MD1000 enclosures to get this kind of storage.

    Thanks.  I was hoping there would be a less pricey solution.  $2,500 for a smart box is too much for our budget given the investment we've already made over the past 4 months.
