Vmware
I have a PowerEdge R710 running VMware. On the front of the server it says there is a fault on drive 1. Drive 1 is flashing amber. In the VCenter is also says there was an issue with drive 1 up to 15 days ago. There are no recent error messages. The last message in the system event log says, Assert + Drive Slot Fault. I did not setup this server and have not worked much in VMware so I do not know how to determine what raid configuration its in. I definitely want to make sure its safe before I remove the current drive. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
What version of ESXi are you using? The best option would be to use OMSA to determine the current state of the drive. https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/how10613/how-to-install-openmanage-server-administrator-omsa-on-vmware-to-collect-logs?lang=en
