Cannot Access Menu. How To Reset PIN?

Hello,

The ML3 will not let us get to the Home menu to access User Accounts. It insists on a PIN, which we do not have. The default PIN does not work. It will not accept any password, and says the Admin and Service accounts are both locked.

How can you reset the PIN when it requires a PIN to get to the menu to reset the PIN?

Is there any way to reset it, or reset the library to factory defaults, without being able to get to the blankety-blank menu? Enquiring minds want to know.

Signed,

Discouraged in Daytona Beach.

We cannot get to the menu.

We cannot access the Configuration menu to go to Reset.

When you first hit Enter on the panel, it wants a PIN, and will not let us any further without that PIN. It will not accept the PIN that was set, and it will not accept 0000. It also will not accept any password, for any user.

Is there any other way to perform a reset when you cannot access the Reset part of the menu?

    Hello,

Are you executing on the LCD this way: From the start screen press two times Enter?

And it ask for a PIN?

Can you post image of that?

    Bcullen72,

With this issue you normally would:

    • Press Enter twice from the start screen.
    • Navigate to User Accounts → Access Recovery → Reset Password.
    • This generates a temporary password for the Admin account.
    • Log in with that temporary password and set a new PIN.

However, this requires menu access, which if you currently do not have would likely require you to call in to support for direct intervention.

Let me know if this helps.
