Maximum volume size for diskgroup/virtual disk

Hi All,

 

Our current array is 2tb and we're running out of space. Our new MD3000i diskgroup has 7x400gb and configured as RAID5. So, the diskgroup is about 2.3TB of usable space.  I notice I can not create the virtual disk more than 2TB. Is this the limitation of the MD3000i? Am I missing something? It does not make sense when maximum volume size for windows 2003 is 256TB and I can only have only 2TB of maximum disk space on the new MD3000i?

    Thank you for your respond. So, what I am reading is that the maximum size for a virtual disk the MD3000i can create is 2TB. In order to achieve a volume more than 2TB, i have to have multiple 2Tbs, then use windows 2003 sp1, GPT and bind these LUNs together to make it a big volume?

    The current MD3000(i) firmware can't make a single volume over 2TB. It's on the first page of the support matrix for both the MD3000 and MD3000i.
