MD1000 Hard Drive Predictive Failure

I have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 with a MD1000 attached, The MD1000 has a drive with Predictive Failure and needs replaced however when looking at OMSA there is no drop down option to take the drive offline.

Can I just pull the drive out and replace it or how do you get the drive offline without a outage/downtime?

    Hello celston41,

With the MD1000 you can just pull the drive & I would wait about 15 minutes before inserting the replacement drive.  Once the replacement drive has been installed then it should show as rebuilding.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

15 minutes is a bit excessive to be host, but I'd wait at least 60 seconds between removable and insertion of a replacement drive.
