I'm looking at using Icy Dock’s ToughArmor MB840M2P-B, an M.2 NVMe SSD to PCIe 3.0 x4 adapter card so I can move a bootable M.2 SSD between machines, without having to open the box.

The use case is instead of carting a laptop from location A to location B, I just take the M.2, and put it in the waiting machine.

I'm looking at the 3650 being that machine.  Actually 2, one at each end.

The key unknown: Can the Precision 3650 tower boot from a device connected to a PCI slot?
