This is very odd.

I have a Dell AIO A940 Printer. Computer is 4600 with Windows XP SP2.

My printer is powered off. But, the light by the power button is still on ... though more dimly than usual.

The Printer icon in the task bar usually has an "x" on it when the printer is powered off. Now it does not.

The printer status in the A940 screen (the one that comes up when you click on the icon) shows the

printer is off.

If I push the power button when it is in this state, the printer comes on. I then power it off and the light

is no longer shining dimly. But .... still no "X" on the icon.

When I start up the computer, the taskbar printer icon has an "X" on it, but it then disappears, so I'm suspecting some process is running that is doing this .... like dblamgr foe example? (think that name is right)

I haven't been ablr to identify any harm this is doing, but it is really bugging me.
