PC cannot find software for my Dell Laser 1700 printer
Hi
I purchased a refurb Dell 1700 laser printer and my Pc which is about 5 years old does not have any Dell models in the list. I tried to install the drivers but it cannot copy some of the files needed. I do not have a copy of the installation CD. Is there a way to get a copy of the CD that goes with that printer to complete installation?

REferbished Dell 1700 printer......
Windows Vista.............
Downloaded software from dell.....
says software cant be installed this way.....
tried "Add a printer" and shows the printer but, says error when tring to print "TEST" page....
manually printed test page and looks perfect.....
when hooked up in USB port says unknown device......
ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRICATED..........Thank You In Advance....

You fail to list enough information for others to properly help you. Assuming some things:
1. You have an internet connection and your PC is 5 years old. Does that mean you're running Windows, MAC or Linux? The drivers for each are different.
2. Did you try downloading drivers from http://support.dell.com ?
Please note that I'm not picking on you and I'll be more than happy to help you if you post more info.
