Printer to computer connection

I notice that new Dell computers do not have a parallel connector for a printer connection; they rely on a USB cable interconnect.

My question is, can an older printer that only has a parallel cable connection (no USB) be connected to a new Dell computer somehow (adapter?)?

You can buy expansion cards that have USB ports on them.  That is probably the best way to do it.

Thank you for your information. I also found that you can buy a Parallel-to-USB cable. However, the cable is $42 and I have decided to NOT invest in my old printer, but just buy a new one; they don't cost much more than that cable.

    Thank you
