printing black from color

I instructed the printer to print black from the color cartridge.  Now I can't find where I found that instruction to undo it. Help!

Under Control Panel, select the Printer icon. Right click on the printer and select properties.

OK.  I've done that and get a box that tells me the features like paper available, and a button marked "printing preferences" and one marked "print test page."  When I click on "printing preferences" I get a box that gives options  for "Quality/Copies",  "Paper Set up" and others.  At the bottom is a place that says "print color images in black and white" but it is dimmed. There is no check box for "print black images from color" .  My black cartridge was printing crazily and I somewhere found the  instruction to print black fromthe color cartridge so I could finish my work and now want to switch back.

If you have the Printer Solutions Center, it's called "Complete-A-Print" - it's in the maintenance section.
