Japanese e-mail

My wife needs to be able to read and write Japanese in Outlook Express e-mails.  However, when I try to install East Asian Languages it  says I need to install Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 CD in the drive.  However, my machine has Windows Media Center on it, and I do not have the requested CD.  I also do not have Microsoft Office on this machine so I cannot use the language capabilities of Office.  I tried to download the Japanese Global IME from Microsoft but when I tried to install it, it said it is not compatible with XP.  Anyone out there figure out how to do Japanese e-mails in Media Center Edition?  Your help is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Apparently that application is looking for "Outlook" and not "Outlook Express" and the reason it's asking for the MS Office disc.  Outlook Express was the free e-mail program that Microsoft supplied for many years.  It is now obsolete.

As a possible alternate, you could try the free Microsoft Windows Live Mail program (what has replaced Outlook Express).  It is the current supported Microsoft e-mail program and MAY work.  Link to Windows Live Mail
