Once a week or so I get a second Microsoft Outlook Icon on my Toolbar. If I go to properties, the shortcut goes to  a Launch Microsoft Outlook at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Outlook.exe/recycle.
Once I clicked it by mistake, and it started to delete all my Outlook folders to the recycle bin.
How does this get there, and how do I "KILL" it.
Thanks,
Bob

Did you check the "real" outlook icon? Its properties are the same:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Outlook.exe/recycle. You might run a Detect and Repair from the OL Help menu and make sure you have all the Office Updates from the web site:   http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx Forgot to mention that there is an Office forum here that might be able to help you better.

The good active Icon in the tool tray that comes up when rebooted is

C:\Documents and Settings\Bob Martin\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

as compared to the recycle prplem one as follows;

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Outlook.exe/recycle

Wouldstill like to know why it happens, and how to kill it

Bob.

    Have you scanned your system for viruses and malware lately with up-to-date antiviral software, Spybot, Adaware, Microsoft's Malicious Software Tool, etc?

    All but Microsoft's Malicious Software Tool. Where do I find it?

    The Microsoft website would be a good place to start.

    I'd skip the MS spyware scan. It's still in beta and very buggy.
