Problem with AOL Mail and Express/Outlook

I set up Outlook Express to access my AOL e-mails...

It downloaded all my e-mail to Express....

I then deleted all the e-mails in Express - all express folders are set to do not synchronize...

Signed out and back into Express - no emails which is what I wanted...

Signed into AOL (web access) and all my e-mails are gone from the AOL server?

Help!

What is wrong???

thanks

I use Outlook (not OE), but there is a setting in Outlook to "Leave messages on the server" which can be turned on or off. I don't know if OE has a similar setting, but if it does, it may be that setting that was turned off and upon downloading to OE, the messages were removed from the server.

    Hi Rebel9
I just set up this Microsoft Outlook.
How could I identify if my "Leave Messages on the sever" is turned on or off?
would you mind put me the steps involved?
I tried the Tools and other but could not find it?
I wish to retain my messages on the sever.
    Thanking you
    Mine is Office Enterprise 2007.

    Open OE...
    Select Tools...
Select Accounts from pull down menu...
Select the e-mail account that you need to adjust and hit the properties button to the right...
Select the Adanced tab at the upper right...
At the bottom is the section titled Delivery and in there is the checkbox to select the option to leave copy on the server...

I have Office 2007 Pro installed at home, I guess it is the same Outlook version as Enterprise, I'll give it a spin when I get there.

Haven't found it yet.  Different layout in 2007, I will keep looking.

Select the account you want to "fix"...
