Uninstalling Dell Datasafe

I am running a dual boot with Windows 7 and Linux Ubuntu on my Dell Studio 1555. Every time I boot into win7, Dell Datasafe seems to corrupt the grub2 bootloader (I found this out from the Ubuntu forums). The solution given in those forums was to remove the Datasafe software, which I am willing to do.

The problem now is that win7 won't let me remove Dell Datasafe. When I try to remove it in the "Programs and Features" application, the window saying "Dell Datasafe Local Backup is preparing the InstallShield Wizard..." starts up and then I get an error:

"An error *-5006 : 0x8000ffff) has occurred while running the setup.

Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications..."

So I closed all instances of Dell Datasafe I could find in the Task Manager (including "Toaster.exe" which seems to be associated with Datasafe) and tried again - same error. So I booted into safe mode, close all instances of Datasafe and tried again - same error.

Please can you tell me how to remove this application?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, just tried CCleaner, no luck though, I got the same error as before. This was in normal windows, not safe mode or anything, but I don't suppose that'll make a difference since it's the same error.

Easy BCD 2 might be able to help with the MBR corruption.

I am not sure how I can make use of Easy BCD 2 in my case since it seems to allow you to mess with your windows bootloader, but I am using GRUB2 from Linux. Are you suggesting that I use the Windows bootloader to boot my OS's, instead of GRUB2?
