SupportAssist and stacked switches

Hello,

I have just installed SupportAssist to monitor my network, network consist of a storage, 3 servers, and 30 switches.

Most of the switches are in stack mode, so there is only one management ip per 3 switches. After added them to device inventory, i can see details only about the master switch of a stack. My question is, how am i going to be informed if switchNo2 of stack_X has a problem?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

this is function is not supported atm. As the stack shows as a single virtual switch, there is no way for SAE to scan the hardware of the single devices.

This is what I found about stacking and the support behind:

Starting the collection of system information is not supported for the following devices that may be displayed in
    the Association view:
    • JBODs
    • Storage PS Series members
    Stacked switches
    • Devices that are listed in SupportAssist Enterprise with an IP address as 0.0.0.0

    Cheers
    Stefan
