Would someone please tell me if I can swap a Westell hard drive with Windows Server 2003 in a Dimension 8200 and seamlessly install it it in a Dimension 2400 or an XPS series computer and have it run as it did in the Dimension 8200?  I am trying to save a 4 yr old Dimension 8200 which had a blown PSU and a Mobo with power however no back panel lights.  The monitor doesn't work in the Dim 8200 however it works in a non-Dell system.  My next test will verify if the CPU is intact. I am hoping the hard drive didn't blow which doesn't work in the non-Dell system.  My question is should I replace the mobo and the cpu or can I use the Hard Drive in another system as if nothing really happened?  Will Win Server 2K3 be expecting only the hardware it was originally installed on?
