After 1.5 years my hard drive failed on my Inspiron 1150.  I purchased a 40 G replacement.  I was very surprised that the new drive came with no instructions.  I installed and used my original CD to format the drive and install Windows XP.  Now, I can only get 480x640 resolution and I cannot recognize my home network and DSL connection.  How do I fix this?
