Dell Openmanage Connection for CA Unicenter

Hi,

I am using Computer Associates Unicenter Network and Systems Management software version 3.1 to manage our servers. All servers are Windows 2003 SP1.

I need to monitor the hardware on our Dell servers using Unicenter. On the Unicenter management server I installed the Dell Openmanage Connection for Unicenter 3.0 and patch version 3.1.

On a server I require to manage I installed Dell Openmanage Server Administrator 4.4. When I perform a discovery using Unicenter it does not discover the server as a Dell Server. There is also no Dell Business Process view created.

Does anybody have any ideas how to set up monitoring of Dell servers using CA Unicenter NSM? All our servers are Windows 2003 SP1.

Thanks

This is what I think the problem is but I'm not 100% sure

The Dell Connection for Unicenter is installed with Service pack 3.1. This is supported on Windows 2003 Poweredge 2850 systems. It doesn't mention anything about Windows 2003 SP1 (good or bad??).

Dell servers are discovered as Dell devices by Unicenter communicating with the Dell Server Administrator software. Server Administrator has just been released with support for Windows 2003 SP1. This version of Server Administrator is 2.1.
The latest version of Server Administrator supported by Dell Connection for Unicenter 3.1 is version 1.9.

There seems to be some incompatibility between the version of Server Administrator supported using the Dell Connection for unicenter and the version supported on Windows 2003 SP1 servers
