venue 8 7840 sd card

16 GB with only a paltry 8 available GB is ludicrous. I put a 64 GB micro sd card in the unit but there appears NO way to move apps to the sd card and when I install an app it does not give me an option to install to the SD card.I have KitKat on my Samsung Note 4 and have NO problem installing apps or moving data to the sd card. Please let me know if there is anything that solves this issue or this unit will be going back. $400 for something that only gives me 8GB of memory is ridiculous.

That's probably a feature enabled by Samsung that's not part of stock KitKat. If you notice Nexus devices don't have expandable storage. So back your tablet goes I guess.

This is a limitation with Kit Kat (although Samsung does have a patch).  Venue 8 7840 will be updating to Lollipop soon and will enable apps to be moved to SD card.

The current goal is to make Lollipop available on 7840 in March.  However, this may get pushed out if any issues are encountered in validation efforts.

What will it be based off of, 5.01, 5.1? As well do you have any updates on when we'll get the update? I'd be willing to beta test it if you need people, anything to get 64 bit support and lolli goodness quicker

The OTA update to Lollipop is currently scheduled for 4/21 for the Venue 8 7000 series.

Its currently 4\23 and NO  update is available for my Dell Venue 8 7000, when will this happen! I can't use this if I Dont have an option to move my apps to the micro SD card I bought to expand the internal memory.
