How to display the customized SNMP polling result data
Dear Experts,
I'm new to ViPR SRM, I have installed a trial version SRM and customized the "Polling Groups" and "Masks" under SNMP collector.
"Collecting-0-0.log" show message "Polling group PG_Test: Completed in 3063ms", so I believe the polling was done.
May I know where to check this polling result data? I see there is a "Management of Database Metrics" module, but cannot list metrics value here.

Not sure what you mean by customizing SNMP but if you set up snmp and it comes back clean, that's good.
What collecting log are you looking at SNMP?
I am assuming you are discovering switches?
DId you install the appropriate Solution pack and are those logs clean?
Are you seeing data in the approrpiate report library? i would look under the switch reports and see if you are seeing data
If not, i would look at the collecting logs for that solution pack.

Thanks for reply.
I'm trying to customize SNMP collector out of SolutionPack, the log name is "Collecting-0-0.log". Now I believe SNMP collector started to collect the customized OID value, but I don't know how to check this polling result. Can it be listed in "Management of Database Metrics"？

Hi Jianping.Wang
It is possible to display the value you added in the customized OID either in management of data base metrics or by using the frontend search.
In order to do so you need to search for the new metric name like so: name=="CustomMetricName" which can be found in the snmp mask you customized.
This is an example from one of the stock cisco mask

What's more, from third-party mib-broswer, when get from CPU node, the return value show 2 lines with suffix
ControllerCPUUsage.2.48.65 0
ControllerCPUUsage.2.48.66 3
The really utilization by OID should be 0 and 3 for two different controllers, how to customize such kind table?

Hi Isaka,
Thanks you so much, I can see the polling result now, but still cannot find CPU and Memory utilization in result table.
Take CPU for example, after query in "Management of Database Metrics", I can see records, and when click one record it will open a window that list all columns for the record. They are attributes like apgdbm devdesc ip model name vstatus, but no CPU utilization there.
I hope it could list CPU utilization by time, then we can use these data to generate report.

Hi Jianping.Wang,
In management of database metrics, the popup box list properties related to the metric and not the metrics values.
Try using the frontend search like the example below; this should list most of the device components and when drilling down in the result you will be able to see the values that have been collected.
Creating custom snmp mask in SRM can be tricky at first, however it is possible to have SRM create custom snmp mask using the MIB browser KB# 489336 shows the steps.
