Computer running slowly
Is there anything wrong with my computer? It's running really slowly... could this be due to a virus/spyware/adaware/keylogger, or just a matter of low space left on the hard drive?

I'm at the system restore, but it doesn't let me go back to the month of june. It only shows system restore points at the earliest of July 6th. When I click the arrow to "show earlier months" nothing happens.
Also, I downloaded a ZoneAlarm firewall, and it keeps saying that is has blocked a certain ip address from netBIOS datagram. Should I allow it through, or let it continue to block it?Message Edited by boy.genius11 on 07-11-200608:49 AM
Reply - Since you did create a new restore point on 6/27 as per my instructions, let's take a gamble that the System Check point of 7/1 was patterned after your clean system picture of 6/27.
Try to restore the computer to 7/1 and post a new log from there.
I can't imagine what could have gone sideways on you in just those three days.
I'd like to see the log from 7/1 to compare with the most current log you just posted.
Thanks!Reply boy.genius11

This is a different computer then the one I got the other viruses/spyware on... =/
I have a system restore point on July 6th, should I go back to that date and post a new log?
Also, I have a question. Can low space on the hard drive cause the computer to operate slowly?Reply - Quote:This is a different computer then the one I got the other viruses/spyware on...
It just makes me wonder why that wasn't your first response to me, boy.genius.
Quote:I have a system restore point on July 6th, should I go back to that date and post a new log?
Why, since this computer is not the same one as you now know that I thought it was.
Quote:Also, I have a question. Can low space on the hard drive cause the computer to operate slowly?
No. Not by itself. Your computer can slow down however because of a badly fragmented disk..and low disk space can prevent your disk defragmenter from working.
Download LSPFix from here or here.
1. Disconnect from the Internet, go to the LSPfix file and extract/unzip LSP-Fix into its own folder C:\lspfix>.
2. Open the lspfix folder and double-click on LSPFix.exe to start the program.
3. Check the " I know what I am doing" checkbox.
4. Click " Finish" and LSPfix will restore the chain numbers.
Reboot the computer at this point.
Run HijackThis again and check the following:

I'd like to apologize about the confusion about the system restore points, I forgot I was on a different computer until I saw the system restore. I'm sorry.
I talked to my dad and he told me not to delete eMule until he got home for some reason. Would this be a big problem? I tried telling him that I am supposed to... =/Reply - The other computer that you had submitted a HijackThis log for had problems that you were unable to resolve based upon the wishes of a third party who did not communicate with this Forum (your Father).
The same scenario is again causing you to present a log that still holds problems needing resolution that is prohibited based on the wishes of the third party who does not communicate with this Forum.
I will not provide any further instructions for these logs you have presented. We volunteers spend hours researching and preparing Fix suggestions for users who are requesting assistance.
With these two logs you have submitted within the past three or four weeks, the time spent offering advice has been at best, genuinely selfless.
Your Father should start a new thread and explain in detail what problems are being experienced.
You should also include a link to these threads (this one and the one from June 27). It's time I wrap this up and move on to assist other users.
Good Luck to you and best regards,Reply boy.genius11

OKay, thanks for all the help. I can't really do anything about my dad because he's the one who bought the computers so in the end he's hte one who makes the final decisions. Sorry to be a bother, but thanks for all the help.
I took your advice and I made it so there's only one antivirus program on my family's other computer.Message Edited by boy.genius11 on 07-12-200609:15 AM
