Well, I believe the first one is caused by Hewlitt-Packard Software, and it's not necessary

You can disable hpcmpmgr, it is a resource hog.

Start--Run type in "msconfig" (without quotes) Click OK

Click on the startup tab. Uncheck "hpcmpmgr" OK.


"ccapp" I believe is adware.(I googled it) Run spyware scans with Spybot, and Adaware.

Thanks for your input. I did not know ccapp was a Norton program. If the original poster has Norton, disabling ccapp might be a bad idea.

If there is any doubt, post in the virus/spyware board here in the Dell Forums.
