Lost Control Panel and Administrator rights Windows XP

Virus software detected Trojan.KillAV virus and supposedly deleted it. I have lost my Control Panel and also keep getting error msgs saying that I am denied access and I need to contact the system adminisrator (which I am). Any ideas on how to get the control panel back?

    hi

I had the same problems, but not with a virus or trojan.

I just suppressed some HKEYs by error

I think that HKEYs -USER are responsible, but I dont know wich (my lost HKEYs)

    Hoping that this helps

    hi Bugbatter

I dont know if this problem is solved, but it seems similar to my problem.

and my problem is not solved : I have destroyed some HKEY, but I dont know how to recover them

I was just searching if my problem was solved, and this topic is the nearest one that I found

Why do you want to use ComboFix?

Combofix should NEVER be run unless requested by your forum helper.

As you run ComboFix the Disclaimer is displayed:

It states that Combofix should not be run in an unsupervised environment. That means that someone trained in its use needs to be working with you.

If you are having a malware problem, please post on the Malware Removal forum. Do not run ComboFix unless you are asked to do so.
