Fast Cache creation error on new VNX 7500 Block system

Dears

I am trying to configure the fast cache on new VNX 7500 block system but I am getting error, when I choose the disks manually i will get "invalid disk selection" error, when I choose the disks manually I will get "caught exception while issuing fail over request to peer- Error connectin SSL". The block system is 05.31.000.5.720 and still it's not connected to any host. one more thing I should say is when I logged in to SPB by unisphere it does not show any system but when I try to log in to https://SPB ip/setup it works fine.I think something wrong with SPB but when I log in to unisphere on SP A it does not show any error or fault on SP B. I checked the powerlink I only found 2 items one was related to bad IP setting on SPs and the other one because of dirty page watermark setting  which none of them are my problem. please help me on this issue. The error screen shots are attached.

Regards

If its a new system why are you not on the latest VNX OE OS?

when I said it's new means it's just initialized, but actually it was in the warehouse for a few months. Anyway do you have any idea about this issue?

    Likely a known issue

I would search the knowledgebase and the release notes of newer OS for fixed issues

    Or just upgrade

I'd suggest that you open a service Request.

Something seems to be wrong either with SP B, or the connection between them

One thing you could try is to see if the array will allow you to change the SP Cache settings, which also requires both SP's to be online and in connection with each other.

Any ways Make sure you upgrade this before going into production, there is alot of enhancements in the newer code versions.

    Hello Amir,

I have found Primus solution“emc275115 “for the below mentioned error…, I guess this primus should help you…

Initialize Fast Cache – Caught exception while issuing failover request to peer – Error connecting SSL. Error details: A system call error (errno=0)

I'd start by checking the peer IP addresses of the SPs - if that is fine you may need to restart the management server on the SP.

This is a great document on doing the restart: https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-7393

I have seen this Primus solution but as I said this storage still it's not connect to any host so there is no i/o on the cache system.

I'd open up a case.  Get your sp collects taken care of,  i'm sure they'll want them...

    Hi Mark

issue resolved but it was very strange, when I used another notebook it could connect to SP B and I could configure the fast cache, I tried to find out what was wrong with my notebook and I found out if I connect directly to SP A, Unisphere comes up but I cannot configure fast cache, if I connect to SP B after loging to Unisphere (took log time to log in) it does not show any storage system, but if I connect my note book through am mini hub to SP B, I could log in (but still log in process is slow) and I could configure fast cache. with my  new notebook I could connect to Unisphere to each SP and I could connect fast cache without any problem but still log in process to Unisphere on SP B is slow. may be old notebook could not crossing the line and my new one can that's why my old notebook needs to be connected through the hub.

thanks a lot to all you guys for your replies
