Hi all. We got the 2x VNX 5200's installed and turned on and running.
However, none of the features are working.
I located a bunch of CD's with the following enablers on them, but I don't know what to do with these files.
How does one go about "loading" these enablers onto the array to activate the features?

Hi Usao,
If you purchased full features pack with your VNX. You have right to install them.
You need USM (Unisphere Service Manager) to install enablers.
You need two times, first with FAST features
second with other enablers
You can find USM on EMC support site.
Follow instruction, and if you are partner download "EMC Solve Desktop" and generate procedure.

I downloaded the Unisphere Service Manager, and then registered the arrays.
There seems to be an option where you can place both VNX arrays in a single Domain where I assume that management tasks are centralized? Is that a good idea (placing both VNX in a single domain)?
What are the pros/cons of doing that?

Why do you need to install FAST enablers separately?
Got all the enabler files loaded to the array successfully.
As for FAST, we don't even have any SSD drives, just a single tray of 900GB SAS drives.
We may not need all the enablers, but since they gave them to us, might as well enable everything we got.

Yes – so it makes sense to NOT install enabler that you wont use right now

This is not entirely true. Even with a single tier of storage in your pool, FAST VP will relocate hot slices across your pool to reduce hot spots. See https://www.emc.com/collateral/software/white-papers/h10938-vnx-best-practices-wp.pdf page 20: "Enable FAST VP on a pool, even if the pool only contains a single tier, to provide ongoing load balancing of LUNs across available drives based on slice temperature."
