After creating some VMFS datastores in the VNXe its constantly getting the ESX servers to add ip storage targets and rescan their HBA. The datastores were created successfully hours ago. Why is this? We are using ESXi 4.1 with software iSCSI initiator.
When dependent iSCSI adapter devices are present on an ESX 4.1 host, we create a host entry on the VNXe with IQNs for each one present plus the software iSCSI adapter. It results in some redundant but benign calls at the initial configuration. As Graeme mentioned, it should have long stopped by now.
Just checking if you are still experiencing the same problem or have you identified the cause? If the issue is not resolved I recommend you contact VNXe Technical Support providing relevant information so this can be investigated to ensure resolution.
You can contact support easily via Live Chat from the Support screens on Unisphere 'Support -> Need More Help' and select 'Live Chat' or from the VNXe Product Page www.emc.com/vnxesupport
