I'm thinking about getting a dual processor 64 bit machine. However, I'm concerned that some of my current software won't work. I know about some of these titles already (Photoshop, Vegas), but I'll list them all, and if you know that something won't work, please let me know.
FLASH v8.0
Photoshop CS
Dreamweaver v8.0
Fireworks v8.0
Sony Vegas Video/DVD v6.0
FreeHand v10
I guess printers/scanners need to support 64 bit in order to work?
My understanding is that most 32bit software is supported by windows 64bit OS, similar to being able to run 16bit applications on Windows XP 32bit OS. Remember you will have to buy a copy of Windows XP 64bit OS to take advantage of your 64bit processor. Hardware Drivers are the real issue when Using XP 64bit.
I just blew $470 on Act! For Real Estate Professionals when I bought it with my Dell Precision 490. I called Act! and they kept transferring me back and forth because no one there knew what to do about it or that the problem even existed it seemed.
