Adobe Reader - Download manager

Hello:

I'm about to download Adobe but it has an option for me to install the download manager.  It says it will help in the download of Adobe.  Is download mgr really necessary?

No, it's not necessary or needed at all.

    socks46,

    It has an advantage, however.

Consider this, if something goes wrong with the download, the manager is designed to handle a difficulty. For example, the Adobe Reader 6.0.1 [deluxe] is approximately 59 minutes on a 56K modem. If a demon disconnects your connection 47 minutes into the download, the manager will return you without a hitch to that precise spot . On the other hand, without it who knows what could transpire? Isn't it a drag to have to sit through two, and maybe even four episodes of the same download?

It may not be necessary for the basic Adobe 6.0.1. But the deluxe? I would recommend it.
