adobe reader files

I've been trying to open Adobe files that I have recieved but for soem reason when I open them it says "file corrupt" which I know can't be right because others can open my files..juts not from my computer. What can I do to fix it? I've already installed the newest adobe hoping that would help, but it did nothing. THanks!

I've tried both opening and saving them. They aren't emails though, its through a program blackboard where I look at all my school documents

If you are receiving the files on email, do you open or save them??? Try to save them and then open it.
The open function should not fail but this is to see if file can be downloaded with no problems...

Make sure you have downloaded the Adobe Reader here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html It's possible that your firewall or security settings are preventing you from saving or opening the remote .pdf files. Ask your school for instructions on accessing the files.

I have not used Adobe for years.

Try this little program.  It will do all you require of it and is tiny in comparison to Adobe.
