Please share if you have purchased Windows 8 upgrade version or a complete copy of Windows 8 operating system. If it is a complete copy that you have purchased, then you will need to perform clean installation of Windows. If you have purchased Windows 8 upgrade and performed it, try below listed steps and check if it helps:

• Boot to Windows Recovery Menu
  • Shut down the computer
  • Power On the system
  • Power Off the system at Dell Logo with “rolling dots” at the bottom of the screen
  • Repeat the above steps 2-3 times

• Perform System Restore
• Update the Graphics Drivers to the latest version
  • Click on the link: http://dell.to/15qqGcr
  • Enter the Service Tag of your system and select the operating system
  • You will find the video driver under 'Video'
  • Click on the video driver depending on the video card your system has
  • Download and update the video drivers following the onscreen instructions
• Update the BIOS to latest A07 version
  • Click on the link http://dell.to/15WrnBe
  • Download and update the BIOS following the onscreen instructions
  • Restart the system and check functionality.

Note: Do not turn off power before update is complete. Connect your computer any surge protector (if available) to avoid any unexpected shut down. Also, disconnect all the external peripherals before updating the BIOS. All the programs should be closed and documents saved.
