another person w/blue screen problems

Hello, hoping someone out there can help me....
i have a dell demension 9100 xp media center edition 2005

I have a blue screen message 0x000000A (0x000000b0, 0x0000002, 0x00000000, 0x804EF13C)

This occurs intermittently when I shut down the computer.  When I restart, nothing seems wrong.  It seems really random when the blue screen occurs during shut down.  I have had this problem for the last 4 or so months (although I don't know if the stop codes are always the same)  I called tech support, got one country that was great, but I needed co call them back as we were on the phone for 2+ hours waiting for a system scan to complete.  When I tried to call them back, I was automatically redirected to another country who supposedly corrected with the problem. Here I still am.  I was hoping someone had some insight for me (as I really am a computer dumb-dumb) before I try and call the techs again.

The only program I installed was Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0  Could that be my problem?  I am hoping that I don't have to uninstall the program.

In the future, by using the Advanced Forum Search on the bottom of this page, you can quite easily find the answer to this often asked question.

The first place to start is F12 on bootup and run diagnostics.  Your "2+hr wait for a scan" implies a failed hard drive.
