Backing up Outlook Express

Hello!

After, what, 5 years?  Windows 98 SE crashed on me.  It won't start at all, even in safe mode.  I want to back up all my Outlook Express (messages, address book, accounts) before I format and reinstall.  I currently work out of DOS.  Which files in which directories should I be looking for?

    ZahraB,

Assuming you are using Outlook Express 5 or later the document here should be helpful for both saving the existing database and importing it into a fresh installation.

The folder with the *.dbx files will be at C:\Windows\Application Data\Identities\{..Alphanumeric data..}\Microsoft\Outlook Express. The Windows Address Book (*.wab) will be at C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book.
