People tend not to post non-events i.e. Vista is working fine.  Therefore the number of problem postings are meaningless.  There seem to be a known problem with iTunes and iPods and Vista, you need to check with Apple about it.  If history is indicitive of the future Vista SP1 is a 1/2 to 2 years away.  PS I run Vista on my notebook.

There is no answer, because you did not include a reason for waiting.  Because others are having problems is not a reason, since it is unclear why they are having problems and do you fit the problem profile.  Example:  a user with a real problem which is caused by an incompatiable program, unless you need to run the same program, the users problem is not yours.

I suppose it's just the sheer number of problems I read day after day about Vista-most of my techie friends say just to wait until the first service pack is released.  I have an XPS 710, 500GB hdd, 2x memory, dual x1950x ATI Radeon graphics cards, know my computer is equipped for Vista, but you'd think by now all the drivers would be released.  Plus I have an Ipod and have heard you can ruin it using itunes in Vista

I too would like to say that I have had no problems in upgrading my Inspiron 9400 and Dell Dimension to Vista Ultimate. I just time enough time to download all the key drivers to get it up and running and then used Vista itslef to get the remaining ones. Did not face any show stoppers.

 

And I am getting used to and appreciating many of the small changes in Vista that are all adding up to quite a nice experience. It may seem that there are no major changes expect for Aero but thats not true and one realises that only after using Vista for long enough. Hard to go back to XP now. And yes - I am a gamer - and I am able to play most of them.

 

If Dell would enhance driver support for Go7800 it would be great. Unfortunatley they dont. SO over to laptopVideo2go to get modified inf files so that the latest nVidia drivers can be installed. I must say nVidia's Vista support is really pathetic!

My Dimension 9200 works flawless with Vista. Never would go back to XP

My Dimension 4550 works great with Vista.
