I have 3 computers running professioanl xp and one running regular xp. I have set up a network and am sharing a printer but I can't seem to share files. What am I missing?

Could you be a bit more specific. How is it not working? When you share the folder, do you see the hand-shaking on the folder icon. On the computer where you are trying to access the folder, is there an error message?

    More details are needed.

I think I finally have the file sharing working-somewhat. I still don't have the files in the shared folder. I have to go to my network places and view workgroup computers and then click on the computers whose files I want to see. Is there a way to get the sharded files into the shred folder?

If you have a home network setup, then check your firewall settings to configure allowing network users on your network access to share files.  If you are running a third party firewall, check those settings also.

Windows firewall, if set properly, will block access to share files while on the Internet, preventing unauthorized users from accessing your share files. This is a security issue.

On any computer running Windows XP with SP1, disable the Windows XP firewall. It will not allow File and Printer Sharing. On computers running Windows XP with SP2, make sure that the Windows XP firewall has File and Printer Sharing checked off on the Exceptions tab. If you are running any third party firewalls, like those provided by such programs as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, or McAfee Security Suite, make sure they are configured to allow local network traffic
