Clean Install Vista

My System: Latitude D820 / 4GB Ram / 512MB Video / Win XP
 
If I do not go the "Upgrade" path & do a clean install on my Latitude D820 with a full retail version of Vista; how does one begin the install for a "full" retail version of Vista? An additional question I have is that I read somewhere that one has to go into the bios & set the boot order so the computer will boot from the Vista CD? Is that so (?) & if so, how do I go into the bios to change the boot order OR is the boot order already to look for the DVD Drive first?

    It is the same as XP and no you do not need to go into the BIOS to make a change.  Hit F12 at boot and that allows you to chnage the boot order for one time only.

    Thanks for the feedback jmwills. When you say "allows you to change the boot order for one time only" does that mean that the machine will always look for the DVD Drive first when booting from that point on? And that you cannot chnage it back to boot from HD (assuming that is the original bios default for boot order?

    No, it means that if the DVD Drive to be the third device in order (floppy, hard drive, DVD) then it will remain the third.  This is actually better since it eliminates the possibility of creating double entries in the boot.ini file.
