I've scanned through posts in the Forum, but I haven't really seen this covered suffiiciently -- is it worth buying Dell PC Tuneup? 

 

I've spent over an hour this morning, trying to search through Dell Support, Google searches, this forum, etc ... looking for clear information on PC Tuneup and apparently it doesn't exist.  My computer is new -- the 30 day trial version of Automated PC Tuneup ran out last night.  I received a pop-up saying the trial version was finished and click here to purchase a subscription.  So being a reasonably knowledgeable consumer, I go to Dell Support because A) I want to know what I'm buying and B)I want to know what it's going to cost me ... and Dell Support answers neither question.  You sign up and then they tell what it'll cost.  No ... that's definitely not how it should work.  I want to know the cost before I subscribe to anything.  And I want to know EXACTLY  what I'm paying for.

 

So, Do I *need* the PC Tuneup?  I know how to do a disk cleanup.  I know how to do a defrag. of my computer.  And aren't these actions and other system maintenance tasks performed by Windows with the Task Scheduler anyway?  What is it with the Automated PC Tuneup that makes it a necessary addition to my computer?

 

Any opinions, information would be greatly appreciated.
