Dell Cineplayer program won't launch

Hey guys...I am wondering if you can help. I see that there are problems w/ DVD playback for Cineplayer but that really isn't my problem. I cannot launch the program at all. I click the icon & nothing happens. If I go to the orginal .exe in program files, same thing, nothing happens.

What could be causing that or more importantly, how do I resolve this issue? I was going to uninstall it, but since this came preloaded onto my computer, I don't think I have the disk - I have the reinstallation disk & the drivers/utilities disk. Nothing else...any ideas?

Oh..i tried the rollback of the date just to see if that would work. It didn't.

Thanks!

I requested help from Dell on this same issue today.  I recieved an email from Dell telling me to uninstall the program.  Then to reinstall the program from the CinePlayer disc.  I have had to request a Disc from Dell as mine did not come with one.  I am having the same issue, and agree, the date roll back does not work.

Mine will not launch either and I have posted the problem on the Roxio forum.  It was supplied with my new E510 but it comes up with invalid product key.  This has nothing to do with the upcoming date patch issue.

Update.  I tried the Cineplayer again today and Roxio's site must have been fixed as it registered.

I've also played DVD's, without the patch or changing the date and it's working OK.

Me too. The Splash screen comes up, nothing more. I tried a repair, I tried System Restore, I DLed the new patch. Nothing.

So you have to go through a long support session to request a Roxio disk?  Groan.

I spent about 10 minutes in a chat session with Dell support today to get a new Roxio disc. I had buggered up my original Win XP Pro installation on my new E520 and re-installed the OS. Since I didn't get any application discs with the pc (just the OS and drivers) I needed the Roxio disc. I explained my dilemma and they said I'd get the Roxio disc in 3-5 days. Not too bothersome...:smileywink:
