I would not delete them, they are system files. In folders such as My Pictures, My Music, My Videos, My recent documents, Favorites, etc. they hold the information about the special folder icon and other particular properties of those folders. Although they are all called the same, their contents are not necessariliy the same (you can open and read them in Notepad if you wish).

Go to control panel then to folder options then to view at the top of the popup then select hide protected operating system files {Recommended} !

Then those will be gone.
