directplay help
WHen i try to use my microphone it doesnt work, the mics perfectly good, i unmuted everything. when i go to sounds, voice test hardware, a error comes up saying directplay failed during setup error 80004005 i dont know what to do i want to use my mike

YOu can also try opening your sound recorder too. XP and windows going way back to 9x series still have this program, and also the best program to use to test your microphone.

also, you need to have the proper driver installed for whatever you use for sound, either a sound card or integrated sound.. and you need to have the mic plugged into the proper plug..
you can go to start/control panel/"system"/device manager, and look to see if your sound device looks ok, from there..
