Folder protection

How does one "password protect" a folder instead of each individual files in that particular folder.

Thank you

Go to the folder and right click it. Click on "sharing and security"  You can then chose to share it, give it a name, etc.  If that is not enough protection for your folder, look at the bottom of the sharing screen where it says, "learn more about sharing and security and all sorts of info comes up to help you.

You can only make   user/Documents   & its sub-Folder   Private so they can only be viewed by the Logged on user.
Use "My Computer" , right click on  user/Documents  & select   "Sharing & Security"  , "Make this Folder Private"
If you Logon with a Password then the Folder is auto Logon Password protected by Logon.

To make other Folder Private by Password Protecting & if you don't have XP Pro you can create a ZIP Folder & Password Protect it.
By right click on Folder & select  "Send To..>  Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Then open new Zipped Folder , right click on blank area of window & select "Add Password".
In future a Password is need to open Zipped Folder.
