Fresh Vista install

So is there anything I have to do to install a fresh copy of Vista? I remember trying to install XP fresh on my XPS 700 and I got a blue screen of death when I installed. I think it was something to do with nvidia stuff. Anything like that with vista?

    You got a BSOD during install, or post install? I would think that Vista being more up to date would handle video drivers better than XP.

    Blue Screens are more accurately descibed as Stop Errors so the install received conflicting information and stopped.   What did the error message say?

    Nope. Blue screens is when Windows does not like certain software or hardware and decides to crash the computer in a hard way.

    lol....
    Blue screens are conflicts within windows with software or drivers.  The screen itself is a error letting you know why the process was stopped and what the error code is. 
     
    As far as installing Vista, you shouldn't have any issues.  However i don't know your system.  I installed Vista ultimate a couple weeks ago on my XPS 400 (intel pentium 820, 2g Ram, nVidia 7300GS, 250g HDD) and had no issues at all.  Only problem i've had is the default driver for my sound card isn't that great, has static and echoing at times.
