Give OEM install disc to Goodwill?

This is probably a really dumb question .    I'm giving my old Dimension 4300 (from 2001)  to Goodwill minus the HD.  Everything else in it still works well.  I have all original documentation, manual & discs for all the hardware I upgraded.  Should I also give Goodwill the Dell OEM Windows XP install disc and the SP 2 & 3 discs I have?    Will they be able to use them?   Thanks for your time.

    Hi 123zaz,

It is absolutely your call whether you want to give away the OEM and upgraded hardware and other software discs along with the system.

They will be able to use it, if they want to.

To be honest, giving away or selling your PC to someone who is planning to use it - especially with minimal frustration and cost - you SHOULD give them the install disk.  They can still use the license that came with the PC, so including the disk will make it easier for them to use it.  If you need it for something, then make a copy and keep the copy or give them the copy.

Thanks to both of you - that's exactly what I wanted to know.  The old Dim served us well for many years & I'm hoping that Goodwill can put her to good use.
