Help with "keep printed documnets" flag

I'm trying to change the keep printed documents flag & it won't change. If I remove the check mark & say ok then go back in to preferences, advanced, it still is checked. I need to remove this check mark in order to print some manufacturers coupons & they won't print if this is checked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS I'm running XP  Home Edition

How are you navigating to the printer properties?

mombodog: I'm hitting start button, then printers & faxes, right  click on appropriate printer, then properties, then advanced.   Bob

All I can suggest is to uninstall and reinstall the printer, the setting holds on my PC.

mombodog: Tried deleting printer & reinstalling driver etc from cd. Still no luck. Just doesn't keep the changed setting. Thanks for your help.   Bob

Go to the manufacturers website and download the latest driver and install.

mombodog: Did that, still doesn't work. Trying to send an email to Brother about this, we'll see what their response is. Probably going to say it's a Windows problem, contact them. Tried that already, Microsoft says XP came pre-installed, contact mfgr (Dell). I did, they said older than a year, give us your cc # and we'll help you.

Are you logged on with administrator rights? You may have to be to change that setting, it's a shot.

Well we are down to either 1 of 2 things, there is a setting on the printer itself that is preventing this or there is additional software for the printer that is causing this, what make and model printer is it?
