IE6(AOL9)Won't Open Sites

Hi, Since getting a new D4700 with XP/SP2 & IE6, I'm rarely(1 day on-4 off) able to open web sites with IE6 browser. The AOL9 browser continues to work fine. Does XP-IE6-SP2 have issues regarding not accessing sites? Using AOL9 as my ISP, I'm able to open pages on a laptop with W-ME & IE5.5. I've tried to configure Tools(Internet Options) to default, but that seemed to work just once. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi, Thanks. I did some looking for IE6 issues on MS -IE discussion board. The suggestion for "Page Cannot be displayed/Cannot find Server" was to Download & Run Winsockfix from here:

    www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html

It worked! Maybe some Registry cleaning caused the problem.IE6 browser is fine now.

What are you changing in IE Internet Options?   Have you check all your security settings, firewall settings, etc?   Are these secure sites you have problems with?   The easiest way to diagnose this is to try a different ISP temporarily, like one that give you a free trial to see if its the PC security setting or the dreaded AOL.  Kip
