First off I do not want a different browser so please don't recommend that as a fix.

 

Ok I have had this problem for a while now at it is getting very annoying. If I click a hyperlink within a webpage the main page closes and the link page appears but fully minimized. I don't mind the minimized thing but having the main page constantly closing gets very annoying.  Also another thing I have noticed is I cannot open a second webpage. When I try this I do not get a second page icon on my task bar. All it does is make the Icon I do have blink once as if refreshing.

 

Things I have tried..

-removed all pop up blocking software

-downloaded and ran quite a few spyware programs

-anti virus (fully updated) has found nothing

-removed IE, shut down my pc and reloaded IE

-downloaded Netscape Navigator (problem persists)

-compared all of the IE settings with my other pc which does not have this problem

-IE service packs all up to date.

 

I have looked around on the net trying to see if anyone else has this problem. I found a similar posting to my problem but nobody offered a solution. I am starting to think this is not a IE settings problem but a WIndows one now.

 

Any help would be appreciated
