internet explorer malfunction

a strange notice appears onscreen when I attempt open google/internet explorer.

I go to internet explorer which opens OK.

Then, when I attempt to access google, the google page comes up and within a second or two this notice appears:

Internet explorer cannot open the internet site

operation aborted

there is an empty box next to the "operation aborted." If I move the mouse arrow into this box and click this notice disappears and google opens seemingly normally.

What is happening and how can I stop it?

Clear the temporary internet files and see if that helps.  In I.E., click on Tools then Internet Options and from there it depends on which version of I.E. you have but there will be an option to delete the Temporary Internet Files (only delete these files, not cookies, etc).

    Thanks Fireberd,

I actually solved this problem by opening an account with google, but I'll remember your advice in case I need it sometime,
