Not Responding

I am having major issues with my Dell...I am running XP Pro & it completely stops responding about 5-6 times a day...I can't even Ctrl-Alt-Delete out of it...I have to press the power button...It is not one program that stops responding, it is just random.  Any suggestions???  THANKS

Right click My Computer and select Manage, then look under Event Viewer to look for clues.

These can be tough to diagnose. You might want start by turning off non-critical background programs and services one at a time and see if things improve.

could be software or hardware related...... the best and easiet way to know is to reformat and go from there.

Make sure all your internal cables are fully seated. Seat and reseat them to make sure they're making a good connection.

Have you run any file maintenance programs like error check, defrag? Also After you do run those for possible file system issues, you can also Open your task manager to see how many applications and processes you have running ( checking how many resources you that are in use, and their depletion of those resources to cause any possible lock up).
