I got my express upgrade the other day. I want to go ahead and ugrade my computer, the only problem is I use AutoCAD for school and I'm in the middle of the semester. There currently is no "vista" version of it, but I read on some of the boards that some people were just running it in compatibility mode. Can you actually do this with no problems? Itunes is another thing, but I use that more on my desktop than my laptop.
Which reminds me, if my desktop stays with XP, and my laptop is vista, would there be a problem transferring files and just the network in general?
I'm not a hardcore AutoCad user, but I use 2007 in Vista 32 Business without a problem. My machine is an Optiplex 740, AMD X2 4200, 2 meg of ram, 256mb Nvidia 7600 graphic card.
If you try it, I'd take a complete backup of your XP so you can restore.
There is nothing wrong with waiting until the end of your semester either.
