Restore points do not work

I have attempted to restore my PC to a previous restore point 3 times and the attempt has failed 3 times. (Dimension E521 from Wal-Mart).  PC is 2 weeks old?  Nay help here.

    If there is third party security software installed, it may be interfering with the process and needs to be disabled during the restore.

    Hi Lagrone68
    Being that you did not give any error codes or anything to go by !
    Do this go to control panel then select system
    click it , on the left side of the system page
    select system protection then make sure you have a check in the
    box by {c:} {system}!
    If there is no check restore points will not work !
    A lot more information from you would have been better to help with this thou .
    Are you dual booting with XP ?
    Are the restore points there but just does not work ?
    What are the error messages you are getting ?

    Thanks for the info.  I was finally able to restore to a previous point from the System Repair screen under the System Repair start up program.
